2025 Saturday Business Institute Application 

Program Information 

The Riordan Saturday Business Institute (SBI) is a program designed to provide students with an early introduction to business concepts, careers in business, and how to plan for college early.

The SBI Program welcomes 9th and 10th grade students attending high school in Los Angeles for a virtual program beginning in January 2025. 

Admission to the Riordan Saturday Business Institute program is application-based. To be considered to the program please review the application requirements below.

  • Diverse career panels 
  • Introductory topics in business by Riordan MBA Fellows 
  • Visit to UCLA Anderson School of Management and experience the Riordan Scholars Stock  Market Competition 
  • Cost-free program
Program Eligibility 
  • Current 9th and 10th-grade student
  • Must attend high school in the Los Angeles area 
  • Good academic record: 2.9 or above
  • Available to attend orientation and  ALL  sessions

Session Dates: 
Orientation - January 11, 2025
Session 1 - February 08, 2025 
Session 2 - March 08, 2025
Session 3 - April 12, 2025
Session 4 - April 19, 2025*

Session Times:
All sessions, except for Session 4, will be held from 9 a.m. -11 a.m. PST 

*Visit to UCLA Anderson 

Application Requirements
  •  Provide Academic Information (GPA)
    • Students can speak with their academic counselor to obtain their current GPA
    • If a student does not 
  • Parent/ Guardian Information 
  • Answering one (1) essay prompt. Answer the prompt in two to three paragraphs, 5-6 sentences per paragraph.
    • Prompt #1: Please describe your academic or career goals? What are they and what do they mean to you? How will being part of the Riordan Program help you accomplish your goals?
